the ritual
A glass of water, first thing. That's the whole routine.
You don't need another 40-ounce commitment. Chapter One mixes fully into a small glass — because on some days, a small glass is what you have in you. We formulated for those days too.
Enough to matter. Nothing to apologize for.
what we left out
The ingredient list is short on purpose.
Everything below is standard in this aisle. None of it is in this pouch.
Sugar
The leading hydration brands carry up to 11g per stick. Ours carries zero — sweetness comes from stevia and monk fruit.
Sucralose
The most common 'sugar-free' shortcut, and a frequent culprit in GI complaints. We took the harder, cleaner route.
Sugar alcohols
Erythritol and friends are famous for bloating. If a product promises to be gentle, they can't be in it.
Caffeine
Hydration shouldn't keep you up. Chapter One is stimulant-free — morning, noon, or 9pm.
Read the labels. We did.

What subscribers write back
The first thing I've actually kept up with. It's just there every morning, and it's gentle — that's the entire reason it works.

I can't do a huge bottle of anything right now. One small glass, done. And it doesn't taste like a sports drink pretending to be nice.

The bookmark in my second box said 'you're further along than you think.' I keep it in the book on my nightstand. Whoever thought of that — thank you.
